About Us

First of all, we are the TOWN of Smyrna and that’s by choice. Coming from rural roots, the culture of a small community has always suited us. Familiar, local, and friendly. Due to our schools, parks, location, and amenities, it’s a great place to live (CNN Money, Forbes, and Fortune) and work.

Smyrna’s population is nearly 60,000 people and increases every day. To meet the needs of the community, we have 23 departments ranging from Water Treatment, Gas, Golf Course, Event Center, Outdoor Adventure Center, Parks, and many others. It takes a lot to keep the quality of life we desire but that’s where you come in. People like you who care about what you do and the people in your community.

Location

As you can see on the map to the right, we are about 30 minutes south of Nashville. That puts you near the Nashville International Airport (BNA), Music Row, Broad Street, and the Johnny Cash Museum. Chattanooga is 1 hour and 45 minutes away while the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains takes about 3.5 hours. But you don’t have to travel far to find good food, places to shop, and quality parks and outdoor spaces. They are all right here in Smyrna.
